Dahlias, how much do I love them? I had a couple of disasters over the years, I've left them in and covered them with black plastic ( idiot) got an ant infestation, dug them up , wrapped in newspaper, put in the potting shed , mice had a banquet.
This time I'll be leaving in the ground once again and covering with a deep mulch and fleece, did this last year and only lost a couple. My dahlias are from and Andrea McDowell I just love the colours and they keep going until the frost gets them.
Cheers me big time.

Lunch at Updown with my great buddy Janet Alexander didn't disappoint. Fabulous setting , lovely flavours, great catch up with one of the 'Snows' then a disastrous trip home from Deal as I got a puncture on the M20, managed to get off the motorway in Folkestone services, called the AA, they couldn't repair the now flat tyre the damage was bad so he took me to Kwik Fit, replacement tyre purchased all good.
Definitely can recommend a trip to Updown and if you have time a mooch around Deal.
