The parkland course is sited on the world’s first nature reserve. Charles Waterton a pioneering Victorian naturalist created the nature reserve in 1820 and he dedicated his life to preserving the local wildlife in this area, and today we still share the park with all manner of wildlife. The golf course was designed by Simon Gidman and opened in 1995. The design cleverly exploits the 200 acres avai

lable, creating a spaciousness not found in many courses set in smaller areas. The par 72 course has been built to extremely high standards with USGA specification greens and tree-lined fairways. The club prides itself on the condition of the course especially its fairways and greens, the greens are in play all year round.

43 miles for Candlelighters ❤️

This week, Phil & Scott are walking 43 miles from The Christie Hospital in Manchester to Leeds General Infirmary, raising money for Candlelighters.

It’s a route with huge significance for Phil. His son Alfie received surgery and chemotherapy at LGI, followed by six weeks of radiotherapy at The Christie when he was just 3 years old.

Candlelighters supported Phil and his family throughout Alfie’s treatment, and Scott was a huge support throughout that time too.

They’ll leave The Christie at 3:30am, aiming to reach Leeds around 6:30pm the same day.

🏆 Huge congratulations to our juniors!

Our 1st Team have been crowned Leeds & District Division 1 Champions, while our 2nd Team have secured promotion from Division 5.

This success doesn’t happen by chance. It’s the result of welcoming new juniors into our programmes, attracting talented young golfers from other clubs who know our passion for junior golf, the incredible work of our dedicated junior organisers, the club’s investment in weekly junior coaching, and a fantastic coaching team that provides a genuine pathway for young golfers to develop.

Success like this is no coincidence—it’s built through hard work, commitment, and creating the right environment for juniors to thrive.

A huge congratulations to our junior member, Jack Emmingham, on finishing 3rd yesterday in the 2020protour event.

Jack had fellow junior Ethan Wealthall on the bag, and the pair showed that Jack can compete with the pros and some of England’s best amateurs.

To top it all off, after 18 holes of tournament golf, he went back out and played another 9!
