💻🏡 Our first work stay at Joyce’s Cottage — and another lovely 5-star review!

A big thank you to Lewis for his kind words. It was lovely to have you stay, and we’re so pleased Joyce’s Cottage worked so well as a base while you were working in the area.

We’re beginning to welcome more guests who are travelling to Wiltshire for work, and the cottage is a great alternative to spending several nights in a hotel.

With three bedrooms sleeping up to six, free Wi-Fi, a dedicated desk/workspace, a fully equipped kitchen and plenty of room to relax at the end of the day, it works particularly well for colleagues, contractors and anyone working locally for a few nights or a full week.

And when the working day is over, there are countryside walks straight from the doorstep, a village pub nearby and plenty to explore around Warminster and the Wylye Valley.

🔥 The final piece of the jigsaw at Joyce’s Cottage!

One of our favourite parts of renovating Joyce’s Cottage has been bringing its original features back to life.

When we started, the fireplace was hidden behind damp plasterboard and an old Parkray fire. Once we’d ripped it all out, we uncovered the beautiful original brick fireplace and surrounding stonework.

Not one to shy away from a challenge, Tom then taught himself the art of traditional lime rendering to restore the fireplace and walls.

And now, the final piece of the jigsaw is in place – our lovely new log-burning stove! 🔥

Just in time for those chilly autumn evenings and cosy winter weekends. We can’t wait for our guests to enjoy curling up in front of the fire after a day exploring the Wiltshire countryside.

Taking advantage of the gorgeous weather this weekend, we headed out on another of our favourite local walks – across Salisbury Plain from Heytesbury to Chitterne. ☀️🐾

We parked near the Plain and followed the bridleways across the beautiful open countryside to Chitterne, where a well-deserved drink awaited us at the wonderfully dog-friendly King's Head, Chitterne🍻

We’re so lucky at Joyce’s Cottage to have brilliant walks in every direction – sometimes the hardest part is choosing which one to do!

And judging by the photos, you can see just how busy the bridleways were… we practically had Salisbury Plain to ourselves. 😂
