The Point is the name of our very special Lodge at Warren Bay Holiday Village which is less than a mile outside of the historic and attractive seaside town of Watchet, which in recent years has seen the redevelopment of the Harbour into a superb Marina and is in the heart of a host of tourist attractions. The area around Warren Bay is one of outstanding and dramatic natural beauty, with the Bristo
l Channel on its doorstep. Behind the Village lies the West Somerset Railway, the longest privately owned and restored steam railway line in the country. On each side lies the Quantock Hills and the Exmoor National Park. There is access down a wooded lane onto the park’s own private beach providing hours of entertainment exploring its many pools or hunting for fossils. This part of the coast is designated an 'area of special scientific interest’ because of its ancient rocks which record some 185 million years of the earth’s history. However, if the sea is too chilly for swimming, the park has its own heated swimming pool. Measuring 36ft long by 18ft wide, it is 5ft 6in at the deep end and 3ft 6in at the shallow end. Holiday makers can walk, easily and safely, along the old West Somerset Railway Line to the sandy Blue Anchor Bay or Watchet Harbour. On the way they will have close-up views of the steam engines on this ex-tremely popular tourist railway line. The popular seaside resort of Minehead is only about 20 minutes away by car. The principal landmark in Watchet is the town’s harbour, the surrounding quaysides and narrow streets. In com-mercial use until 2000, the harbour has now been converted into a marina and the esplanade has been refur-bished. Adjacent to the harbour is Watchet station, an intermediate stop on the West Somerset railway. Mostly steam-operated, this heritage railway links Bishops Lydeard near Taunton with Minehead. The Lodge has its own parking area for two cars with a gated deck surrounding three sides of the property. The large open plan living area has two sets of bi-fold doors onto the decking, ample comfy seating, a dining table to accommodate eight people and a centre island with breakfast bar seating. It has wifi and internet via satellite and freesat TV which connects to Netflix and other well-known apps. There is a DVD player and radio/CD player, board games, playing cards, colouring books, CD’s and DVD’s. The Lodge has two double bedrooms with king size beds and a sofa bed in the lounge, sleeping six comfortably. All bedding and towels are provided and there are special towels for the hot tub in the utility room. Bedroom one has two dressing areas and an ensuite shower room, bedroom two has access to the Jack & Jill bathroom, with bath and separate shower cubicle. The decking wraps around the Lodge, with comfy seating area, BBQ, outside dining seating for 10 people. The end of the deck extends out to a whirlpool bath Hot Tub, with four seating positions.
