Last week, we enjoyed a refreshing walk up Crook Peak, one of the most iconic landmarks in the Mendip Hills. The crisp autumn air, golden sunshine, and breathtaking panoramic views across Somerset, the Bristol Channel, and beyond made every step worthwhile.

Whether you’re looking for a peaceful countryside stroll or a more rewarding hill walk, Crook Peak offers stunning scenery throughout the year. Days like this remind us just how lucky we are to have such natural beauty right on our doorstep.

Sundays don’t get much better than this. 🍂✨ Today, the breathtaking Wells Cathedral was the backdrop for the incredible Wells Food Festival. 🧀 🍷 🍓 🍺 🥧
With over 200 artisan stalls stretching across the Cathedral Green and historic streets, it’s the ultimate autumn day out in Somerset.
Although taste testing neat rum at 10:30 this morning was maybe a choice... 🥃😅 It’s all part of the Wells Food Festival experience!

Make another coffee. Sit for a while. Listen to the birds, enjoy the quiet and forget about what time it is.

No rushing. No plans. Just a cosy cottage, a peaceful setting and a few days to properly switch off.

Just up the road from the cottages, Wedmore Golf Club is a beautiful spot for a round of golf - or a stunning loop walk through Wedmore Wood and back to the cottages. 🌳🥾
And if you fancy a stroll into the village for a drink or dinner, there are plenty of lovely pubs to choose from. It’s a favourite walk of ours… although I’ve stumbled back across the fields and the 12th hole more times than I care to admit! 🍻⛳️

The perfect combination of countryside, village pubs and a beautiful place to stay. ❤️

Yesterday we had a wonderful time exploring Bruton, followed by a delicious pizza at The Chapel. 🍕✨
With so many fantastic food options in and around Bruton, we really were spoilt for choice. Osip. is just down the road for a special dining experience, or there’s Hauser & Wirth with its picturesque gardens and wonderful art gallery.

We’re so lucky to live within an hour of this magnificent town. ❤️

Nothing beats a walk along Weston-super-Mare seafront on a day like today. ☀️
Golden sands, miles of beach and plenty of fresh sea air. I always love watching the mix of people enjoying it - horse riders, dog walkers, runners, cyclists, OAPs and new mums out with the prams.

Everyone doing their own thing, but all enjoying the same bit of coastline.

Days like this make you realise you don’t have to go far for a proper little escape. ❤️
