What a brilliant day out yesterday Dunster Show with our show team. Some brilliant results topped off with our cow in milk Viburnum taking breed champion and the children doing brilliantly in the young handlers against some very experienced young handlers. Thanks to our judge for coming all the way from the Shetland isles.

It was a full team effort to get all the calves weighed and checked this morning.

Sparrowhawk our herd sire was on crèche duty last night and safe to say he was less than impressed about it.

Really looking forward to attending this with a few of our cows. The Martlet Inn have been fantastic supporters of ours and use our Organic Dexter beef in the pub. It’s a firm favourite with all our holiday let guests from The Cottage Beyond

It’s been a hot few days and the fields are all a little dry but the young calves are all doing well and managing to find plenty of shade to rest up during the day.

Attended the annual Wessex Dexter Group show yesterday. A big thank you to all the members of the group who worked so hard to put on a brilliant show.

Finally getting the young bottle reared calves out to grass. They were super chilled. The Dexter bull and calving cows were a little more vocal about these strange cattle going past their gates

Calving 2026 in full swing on the farm. Last years drought seems to be having an influence, 2bulls and 7heifers so far.
