You can visit the real-life village of Sandford less than an hour from Bristol. 🦢🚔

The smallest city in the UK, Wells, famously served as the setting for Edgar Wright's cult comedy Hot Fuzz. Fans can easily take a Cornetto Trilogy-inspired tour through the historic streets, checking off some of the most recognisable filming locations from the movie.

🍺 The Spots: Grab a pint at The Crown, see where Sergeant Angel stayed at The Swan Hotel, or visit the Market Square, where the iconic shootout happens.
⛪ Good to know: Beyond the movie ties, Wells makes for a great day trip with its medieval architecture, local markets, and a stunning 850-year-old cathedral.

The Hunters Lodge Inn at Priddy has made a national best-pubs guide for the second year running, which suggests last year's appearance was not a clerical accident.

The pub is one of 650 venues selected across the UK and one of 11 in Somerset. Its latest recognition adds another national mention to the Mendip Hills.

We’re excited to announce a brand-new feature for Wells Food Festival 2026 –BBQ demonstrations from Bristol BBQ legend Nathan Ritchie!

Nathan, founder of Big Nath’s, will be turning up the heat with live sessions throughout the day. Watch as he cooks up a mouth-watering menu using ingredients from some of our fantastic local artisan traders, all on the incredible Ultimate Asado grills from Somerset Grills.

Expect sizzling flavours, expert tips on smoking and grilling, and plenty of lively BBQ chat.

We’ve got everything from Mexican burritos, Polish hot dogs, Middle Eastern wraps, Sri Lankan and Indian curries and Thai noodles to Sourdough pizza, cheese toasties, burgers and pulled pork buns. We’ve got paella and pasta, crispy fried seafood and fried chicken and even churros and crepes for those with a sweet tooth.

With over 30 street food vendors serving cuisine from all around the world, you’ll be spoilt for choice.

*If it’s VEGAN food you’re after, then make sure you visit Fi Real in the Market Place for Vegan Carribbean cuisine.
