🎃 FIRST DAY OF THE TEA ROOM WEEK….. and someone’s called a meeting in the Cake Bar.

Lemon Drizzle: “We need to discuss the new arrival.”

👁️ Trick or Treat Rocky Road: “I’m right here.”

Lemon Drizzle: “Yes. We can see that. You’ve brought a skeleton.”

Rocky Road: “He’s very quiet. You could learn a lot.”

Pumpkin Spice Blondie: “Are we all dressing up, then? Nobody told me. I’ve just had my drizzle done.”

Date & Walnut: “I’ve brought butter. Will that do?”

Mocha & Hazelnut: “Can we get back to the meeting?”

Salted Caramel Flapjack: “What meeting?

😂 Halloween is around the corner and the cabinet’s getting a bit crowded. Probably best you come and help us make some room…

We’re open Thursday through to Sunday, 11am–4pm, with this lovely lot, plus:

🎃👀 THERE’S A NEW TROUBLEMAKER IN THE CAKE BAR! 👀🎃

Well, this could be interesting… 😂

Tomorrow sees the arrival of our Trick or Treat Rocky Road, and judging by the look of him, he’s going to cause absolute chaos in the Cake Bar cabinet!

He’s already giving Lemon Drizzle the evil eye, the Brownies are looking decidedly nervous, and the Salted Caramel Flapjacks are trying very hard to stay out of trouble. They’ve got enough to deal with, being smothered in our homemade caramel! 🤣

👻 Packed with chocolate, marshmallows and a few rather creepy characters, he’s certainly not the shy and retiring type!.

And don’t panic… Pumpkin Spice Blondie will be hot on his heels! 🎃 He’s just having a final bit of pampering in the kitchen before making his grand entrance.

🍂 FROM A QUIET START TO A SCONE SELL-OUT! 🍰☕

Well, that was a bit of an odd week at Double-Gate Farm!

We started off rather quietly, but things gradually picked up and by the weekend we were ticking along quite nicely. And do you know what? For October, I’ll take that! 😊

Apart from a Birthday cake collection, today was definitely ALL about the scones! We pretty much sold out, so I think we all know what Steve will be spending a good chunk of his week doing! 😂

Tomorrow is looking a little calmer. We’ve got our B&B guest breakfasts to sort, cake orders to get out to our trade customers, and a trip to get paint for one of our Riverside bedrooms, which is getting a bit of a makeover this coming week. 🎨

And after that? I’m rather hoping for a few hours of doing absolutely nothing. We’ll see how that goes! 🤣

🍁 LOOKING AHEAD TO THIS WEEK…

We’re back open Thursday to Sunday, and our October Afternoon Teas are looking rather fabulous as they leave the kitchen!

A little nod to Halloween, a touch of autumn, plenty of homemade treats and nothing too frightening (apart from the washing up afterwards!). 🎃👻

We’ve got plenty of availability this coming week, so if you fancy an afternoon catching up with someone, treating yourself or simply escaping the everyday rush for a couple of hours, we’d love to see you.

🎄 AND YES… CHRISTMAS IS COMING!

We’re now taking bookings for TWO very different festive experiences at Double-Gate Farm, and I’m really looking forward to both of them!

🥂 Our Luxury Festive Afternoon Tea

A wonderfully indulgent afternoon of festive sandwiches, savouries, homemade Christmas bakes, delicious desserts and a few seasonal surprises. Perfect for gathering your favourite people around the table, having a proper catch-up and enjoying a little Christmas luxury.

🔥 Our Festive Christmas Cabin

Something completely different! A cosy, relaxed and rather lovely way to get together with friends or family. Festive treats, warming drinks and marshmallow toasting around the fire pit. A little less formal, a little more outdoorsy, but every bit as special.

Both experiences run Thursday to Sunday, 26th November to 20th December, and bookings are now open.

Christmas always seems to arrive before we’ve quite caught up with ourselves, so it’s worth getting your favourite people organised early!
