It was a pleasure, as always, to host Michelle’s Angels this weekend for their 11th retreat. The weather just about held out … ish! Some of the ladies are back in July, then again in November. I cooked a selection of dishes for their evening buffets including my Spanish roast peppers, leek and potato bake, spicy chicken with mango chutney, baked harissa orzo with tomatoes and basil, various salads, and of course, the obligatory pavlova - I went a bit off piste and instead of my standard summer fruits and cream I made a coffee cream topped with cherries, blackberries and grated chocolate. Joyous weekend 😊

Coming in a close third after Canterbury and Bath (we can’t argue with that!), our beautiful Wells has been voted the third best small city in the UK.
In a Telegraph article written by Chris Moss, Wells came out near the top in rankings including tourist attractions, pubs, restaurants and shops. He described Wells as ‘old and handsome’. We couldn’t agree more 😊
