Just for information

Montgomery Castle, along with its car park and all paths, will be FULLY CLOSED from 1st to 12th June inclusive. This is to allow much needed resurfacing work to take place to the car park and path into the monument. Improvements will also be made to the path leading up from Bunners at its top end; the bank will be stabilised and the path widened to make it safer. The Conservation Works Manager will keep us updated as work progresses.

First it was going to close, then it wasnt, Now it is ! πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

The back rd through Welshpool is now closed until the 25th of May which of course is the Bank Holiday.

Coming through from the Midlands is fine as you can come up the high street. Going home means a 12 mile detour !

My advice as per a previous post would be to go home via Meifod, Llansatffraid, Four Crosses, Llandrinio, Crew Green, Alberbury and rejoin the A458 at Ford by "The Gates" what was the Smokestop in Ford.
