A Sunny bank holiday weekend enjoyed by all. It was great to see owners with their families and friends spending time together, playing in the river, relaxing, socialising and enjoying a little quiet time too.
Whatever you want to do - a great way to spend time at Dolgead Hall!

Please feel free to post any photos of your weekend which you would like to share 😀

Below is a message and some photos from Lynn and Pete below who kindly organised the bowls competitions and quiz over the weekend:

A great weekend of activities, friendly competition, lots of banter and definitely this bank holiday, we had the sunshine on our side.

We started the weekend with target bowls which was a great crowd pleaser, especially enjoyed by Nellie our youngest competitor and our final winners were Jan & Steve with joint highest scores. Petes Quiz was again well received, enjoyable and supported by all and it gave us an exciting end with a tie breaker! We raised £96 for local charity from these two events.

Sunday we had our annual doubles competition, 16 entrants, fun, lots of measuring and very close competition; the final being played out between Kevin & Steve v Joyce and Pete; Kevin & Steve overall winners. Well done to all.

We finished the weekend off with American 7's, ending cut short due to the weather.....phew it was hot! Joint winners were Chris/Rob and Chris/Len.

Congratulations to all those who participated, winners, helpers and the supporters - it would not have been such a successful weekend without you all.

Our thanks...

Lynn/Pete

Road Closure - Brook Street Welshpool
Monday 20th April to Tuesday 26th May
Brook Street is the road from the Raven roundabout to the left turn only junction by Inglenook Cafe.
The 10 mile diversion is via Guilsfield and Ardleen.

Our advice gives you a couple of other options:
Travelling from Shrewsbury to Dolgead Hall:
- Welshpool is still an option but all traffic will be using the High street so may be busier than normal.
OR
When travelling from Shrewsbury turn right after the Gates pub to Crew Green / Llandrinio (B4393). Continue to Four Crosses, Llansantffraid (B4393) and then turn left and go through Meifod (A495).

Travelling from Dolgead Hall to Shrewsbury
- Turn left at the bottom of our drive (A495), go through Meifod, turn right in Llansantffraid (B4393), Four Crosses, Llandrinio, Crew Green and then you'll get tot he main Shrewsbury Road.
- **Going through Welshpool towards Shrewsbury will only get you to the diversion due to one way systems (sorry)**

Please be aware of 20mph speed limits in Welsh villages.

There are lots of minor road short cuts but we predict that these will be quite busy.

If you wish to get to Charlies Coed y Dinas area, travelling via Castle Caereinion and Berriew is the best route but this is a minor road so please take care.

Obviously, not the best time to schedule roadworks in a busy tourist area!
If you need any further advice just let us know.

Please see the My Welshpool page for a little more information.

The snow is NOT here YET!
The forecast is saying that mid Wales could be getting a lot of snow tonight and over the weekend.
If any lodges owners are thinking of visiting Dolgead Hall / Banwy Mill over the next few days we strongly advise:
- Ring us before you travel for weather updates
- Research travel conditions before travelling
- If you do decide the stay at your lodge for the snow, be prepared not to get out for several days. There are worse places to be stranded!
Keep safe everyone
