🚤 Weymouth Lifeboat Week is back! 🚤

From 6th–15th August 2026, Weymouth will be celebrating our wonderful RNLI crews with ten days of family fun, live music, displays and seaside events.

There’s plenty happening throughout the week, including lifeboat displays, the popular Lifeguards’ Challenge, emergency-service vehicles, crabbing, paddleboard racing, quizzes, live music, a grand draw and the traditional Blessing of the Lifeboats.

It’s always a brilliant week in Weymouth — full of atmosphere, community spirit and a chance to support the incredible volunteers who help keep people safe at sea. 🌊🛟

Many of the events are around the harbour, Nothe Gardens, Newton’s Cove and Weymouth Beach, all within an easy stroll from The Wadham.

Pop the dates in your diary and please support the RNLI while enjoying everything our lovely seaside town has to offer. ❤️💙

🚂 A Proper Dorset Day Out… Steam, Scenery & Seaside Charm

If you fancy something a little different during your stay, we always love recommending a trip to the beautiful Swanage Railway. There’s something quite magical about stepping aboard a traditional steam train – the gentle chug of the engine, the smell of coal in the air, and those sweeping views across the Purbeck countryside. It’s one of those experiences that slows everything down (in the best possible way).

The journey runs through some of Dorset’s prettiest spots, including views of the iconic Corfe Castle, before arriving in the charming seaside town of Swanage – perfect for a wander, a bite to eat, or even a little paddle if the sun’s out.

It makes for a lovely relaxed day from Weymouth, especially if you enjoy a mix of history, scenery, and something a little nostalgic.
