A guest recently asked if we had a slow cooker and, although we didn’t at the time, it got me thinking… actually, what a great idea! 😊

Imagine popping something in before heading out for a day exploring beautiful Dorset, then coming back to the cottage with that lovely smell of dinner cooking. 🍲

Hot tub, log burner on, PJs, a good film and dinner ready and waiting… now that sounds like a holiday! 🔥❤️

So we now have a slow cooker in each cottage! Hopefully the guest who gave me the idea will be back to make good use of one next time. 😊

Making memories 💕

Last weekend Rob and I took some of the grandkids on a boat trip from Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door and it was amazing! 🚤☀️

We all loved it. Seeing Durdle Door and the coastline from the sea was just stunning and the boat ride was great fun — definitely one of those afternoons we’ll remember.

We just turned up and booked when we got there. It was £25 for adults and £15 for children and parking at Lulworth Cove was £9 for 3 hours. We took a picnic with us and made an afternoon of it.

If you’re staying at the cottages, we can really recommend this one. Such a lovely way to spend a few hours and well worth the money.

Real memory box stuff 💕

Little local gems & perfect picnic spots ☀️🌊🧺

Sometimes the simplest days are the most enjoyable — and they don’t need to cost a fortune. Pack a picnic, grab some fish & chips or stop for coffee and cake and enjoy some of our favourite local spots.

🐟🍟 Bowleaze — we enjoyed fish & chips overlooking beautiful Weymouth Bay. A pretty special view with dinner!

☕ Café Oasis at Overcombe — right on the beach with lovely views across the bay. Perfect for a coffee, breakfast or lunch by the sea.

🛝 Lodmoor Country Park — lots of open space, a great play area for the children and plenty of room to find a spot for a picnic.

🌸 Greenhill Gardens — beautiful gardens overlooking the sea. Take a picnic and you may even catch some live music on selected summer days.

🌿 Radipole Park & Gardens — lovely walks, a great play area and plenty of places to enjoy a picnic, with drinks and food available too.

🌳 Thorncombe Woods — beautiful woodland walks and trails. Pack a picnic and make an afternoon of it — perfect for families and four-legged friends too.

💦 Upwey Wishing Well & Water Gardens — wander through the pretty gardens before stopping at the tearoom for coffee, lunch or a homemade cake. 🍰☕

🦆 Moreton Ford — a lovely spot to take a picnic and enjoy a paddle in the River Frome on a warm summer’s day.

Sometimes you don’t need a big day out — just a picnic, some sunshine, a beautiful view and time together. 💛

Explore Dorset… then come back, close the gate and relax. 🌿

After a day discovering Dorset’s beautiful Jurassic Coast, beaches, countryside and pretty villages, there’s something rather lovely about coming back to your own little retreat.

Both of our luxury self-catering cottages have their own private, secluded back garden, fully enclosed for those bringing a dog, with a covered private hot tub and plenty of space to sit back and enjoy the peace.

Pour a glass of something nice, sink into the bubbles and enjoy some proper quality chill time. ❤️

The perfect end to a day exploring places like The Fleet, Chesil Beach, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and everything our beautiful part of Dorset has to offer.

Sometimes the best part of going out for the day is knowing what you’re coming back to. 🌿🥂

When you stay at Wild Meadow Cottages, we want you to feel at home from the moment you arrive.

Wake up to a freshly brewed coffee from the Nespresso machine, enjoy a creamy latte with the milk frother, or blend a healthy smoothie to start your day.

Whether you’re relaxing in your private hot tub, curling up in front of the large 4K QLED Smart TV, enjoying a film in bed on one of the Smart TVs, or lighting the log burner on a cosy evening, we’ve thought about the little touches that make a stay truly special.

From the welcome treats waiting on your arrival to the comforts that help you unwind, we hope every guest leaves feeling relaxed, refreshed and already planning their next visit. 💙
