Looking for things to do with the family this half-term? There’s plenty happening in and around Weymouth!

🌧️💦 Who cares if it’s raining?! 🥂🤣

Let’s face it, the British weather isn’t always on our side, especially at this time of year!

But there’s something rather lovely about sinking into a warm, bubbling hot tub, listening to the rain on the roof, knowing you haven’t got to rush off anywhere! 💦🍂

And because both our cottages have their own private, covered hot tubs, you can enjoy them whatever the weather decides to throw at us!

Why not give our new slow cookers a try? Pop something delicious in before heading out for a walk, or simply leave dinner bubbling away while you enjoy the hot tub. Nothing quite like coming back to the smell of something lovely cooking, especially when someone else isn’t expecting you to cook it! 🤣🍲

Then it’s time to light the log burner, pour yourself a glass of something nice and settle in for a cosy evening. 🔥🍷

No rushing around, no washing up mountains, no jobs waiting to be done. Just time to switch off and relax.

Suddenly a rainy weekend doesn’t sound quite so bad, does it? 🍂❤️

October is such a lovely time to visit Dorset. The summer crowds have eased, the countryside is changing colour and there’s still plenty happening locally.

Sometimes a few days away is all you need.

A soak in your own private hot tub, cosy evenings in front of the log burner, beautiful Dorset walks and plenty of time to simply slow down.

And of course, four-legged guests are very welcome too 🐾💚

🐾 Dog-Friendly Weymouth

Bringing your four-legged friend to Dorset? There are so many lovely places to explore together around Weymouth. 💚

🌊 Bowleaze Cove – dogs are welcome all year round and it’s a lovely spot for a coastal wander.

🐾 Weymouth Beach – there’s a designated dog-friendly section near the Pavilion all year round, and from 1st October to 30th April dogs can enjoy the main sandy beach too.

🌿 Greenhill to Overcombe – another lovely stretch where dogs are welcome all year.

🥾 South West Coast Path – perfect for stretching your legs a little further and taking in some of our beautiful Dorset coastline.

⚓ Weymouth Harbour & Nothe – a favourite for a wander, with plenty of places to stop along the way.

And back at Wild Meadow Cottages, you don’t have to go far for a walk either. We have our own large field just a stone’s throw from the cottages — perfect for getting out with your dog first thing in the morning or for that last little wander of the day. 🐕🌿

We’re definitely a dog-loving family here at Wild Meadow! These are our three Maddy, Lottie & Indie 🐶🐶🐶

There’s something rather lovely about Weymouth at this time of year 🤍

The summer crowds have gone, the beach is quieter and it’s the perfect time to wrap up, take a long stroll along the seafront and just enjoy being by the sea.

And afterwards? Back to your cottage, pop the log burner on, pour yourself something nice and sink into your own private hot tub. ♨️

We’re getting really booked up now, with just a small amount of availability remaining in November and a little more in December.

Sometimes a few quiet days away is exactly what’s needed. 🥰

Just a 5-minute walk from your cottage you’ll find two great local food vans at Reynolds Community Centre.

Simply wander up the lane (Littlemead) and, as you come out onto Dorchester Road, Reynolds Community Centre is directly opposite.
