Walk the Jurassic coast of Dorset and you’ll come across many handmade individual gates. We have two depicting the world wars, people and horses going to war strong and straight, and coming back broken.

Gates made of steel fish, gates that tell stories like that of Mary Anning the fossil hunter of Lyme Regis, her gate even depicts her dog Tray.

Today’s gate is near Charmouth.

The South West Coast path runs along Weymouth promenade and is a 12 minute walk from Little House.

To the east of Weymouth Bay you are straight on to coastal cliff walking (in less than 40 minutes from our front door) and to the west the beautiful shoreline path along the Fleet Lagoon at the back of Chesil Bank.

St Albans Street Weymouth. One of our favourite streets to poke about in, with many unique shops and eateries. Sutton’s Cafe is the oldest family run cafe in Weymouth with delicious food and unusual choices, all home made on the premises.

Eating there is a real experience and a holiday treat to remember!

There’s always plenty to do in Weymouth, something new every weekend! This one was the Wessex Folk Festival where Morris dancers gathered, sea shanty singers performed and exotic and delicious food was on offer at the harbour side.

We even had a friendly Weymouth seagull wandering around 😉 27 degrees and perfect weather for an ice cream 🍦
