The beautiful River Wey after which Weymouth is named. It’s a tiny river starting in the village of Upwey and making its way to the sea about 5 miles away.

Herons frequent it and if you’re lucky you might spot one of the kingfishers who frequent its trees and banks.

The ford, pictured here, is knee deep and is often used by horse riders to give their horses a lovely cooling walk along the riverbed.

We are now taking bookings for November - come and enjoy the public bonfire on our beach and watch the fireworks over the sea, set off from a floating barge in the bay!

Studland Bay, Dorset taken today. It’s not the Caribbean but it almost could be with sunshine and 22 degrees. This is why we say come and stay in September and October 😊

Yes it’s real! The ice cream hut at Newton’s Cove in Weymouth really makes these ice creams for £3.50. You can only buy this size, they don’t do small or medium, only a full tower.

They are famous with visitors, residents and even cruise ship passengers seeking them out and enjoying them in the sunshine at the cove.

Dare you take the challenge? 😁

Morning and evening of today in Weybiza!

Pulpit Rock at the tip of Portland Bill. At high tide boys jump from it into the sea below but more fun can be had by climbing on top of it using the footholds carved in the north face.

It was calm when we took this photo last week but winter storms can send waves over it so high that they obscure it!

We are now taking bookings for October, some days have already gone but plenty are left - crisp mornings, golden trees, crunchy leaves - Dorset at its uncrowded best. Come and stay with us, we will spoil you! 🥰

Today we were at Portland Bill in glorious sunshine. The lighthouse is 41m high and there are 155 steps to climb if you want to go all the way to the lantern room at the top!

It has been assisting n keeping shipping safe since 1906 and is now fully automated.

We are now booking for October…..this could be your chance to stay with us.

A couple of photos taken early morning on Weymouth beach yesterday. The Splashdance swimmers had finished their dancing on the sands and entered the sea for their swim and locals were enjoying a horse ride before anyone else was awake. Beautiful.

We are full for September but have started taking October bookings.

October is our personal favourite month in Dorset, quiet beaches, autumn colours, a serene sea.
