Hairy Bikers star Si King is heading to Whitby for Lit Fest 2026 📚🍴

Whitby is preparing to welcome a huge line-up of authors, broadcasters and performers this November as Whitby Lit Fest returns from 19th to 22nd November 2026.

More than 50 author events are expected across the four-day festival, with one of this year’s headline guests set to be Si King of the Hairy Bikers.

Si will appear with his first solo cookbook, Proper Home Cooking, sharing stories from his life, his career on screen and his years spent travelling on the road.

Also joining the programme is internationally acclaimed novelist John Boyne, author of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, who will appear in conversation with broadcaster and novelist Steph McGovern to discuss his latest novel, The Weight of Angels.

With bestselling writers, broadcasters, actors, historians, poets and performers all heading to the Yorkshire coast, Whitby Lit Fest 2026 is shaping up to be one of the town’s biggest literary weekends yet.

Whitby is preparing to welcome some of the biggest names in books, broadcasting, food, and entertainment as Whitby Lit Fest returns from 19th to 22nd November 2026.

Over four days, the festival will offer more than 50 author events, celebrating novels, poetry, history, food, performance, and storytelling in the town that inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

The 2026 line-up already features Ann Cleeves, Joanne Harris, Mark Billingham, Dr Sian Williams, Greta Scacchi, Si King, and Corinne Bailey Rae, with many more names to come.

One of this year’s headliners is John Boyne, the internationally acclaimed author of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. He will talk about his new novel, The Weight of Angels, with broadcaster and novelist Steph McGovern.
