We’ve been so busy spring cleaning that we nearly forgot… it’s our birthday!

🎉 Happy 6th Birthday to us! 🎉

From a somewhat 8 year-l old to a somewhat lady in her 30s, Farndale has been part of my story for as long as I can remember. It was the home where my childhood was made and now it’s the house where I have the privilege of welcoming guests back year after year.

A little about me…

I’m a local girl, born and bred, with a wealth of knowledge about where to eat, where to go, and what’s fun!

I genuinely love cleaning (yes, really!), so every single clean is done by my own fair hands to make sure everything is in tip-top shape for your arrival.

I love summer evenings, late night walks, a cheeky glass of wine, and most of all, spending time with family. During the school holidays, our kids are usually by our side helping get everything ready knowing the quicker we finish, the quicker we can go and do something fun together!

This isn’t just a business. It’s family run, and we truly care from the moment you book to the minute you leave.

It’s been one of those productive spring clean days today! Both outside areas have been pressure washed and we’re starting to prepare for the season ahead.

We still have some availability for April, and as the spring air (hopefully!) begins to arrive, Farndale Cottage is the perfect family base for exploring Whitby and the stunning surrounding area.

Sleeping up to 6 guests, and with plenty of local knowledge from the lady who grew up right here, it’s a true home from home and the ideal spot for your next UK escape.

A little bit of history will soon be taking pride of place on Farndale’s walls 🤍

The original receipt from when my Grandad purchased the house back in 1961.

He sold it in 2007 due to ill health, then after a few in-between owners and a cheeky conversation… lo and behold, Farndale found its way back into family hands in 2020.

The memories I have here as a child are endless and still make me smile every time I do a changeover.

It may be just a house to some, but to me it’s a home filled with decades of fond memories. Now I get to create new ones for families, friends and couples wanting to explore the beautiful Whitby area.

I’m proud to say that from beginning to end, you’ll receive 5-star service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

☀️ Farndale Cottage: A Place of Memories ☀️

When we opened our doors in March 2020, we had no idea what was to come. The world paused, but since then, we’ve had the joy of welcoming couples, families, and friends,many of whom return year after year. Farndale has become a part of their stories, their memory maker.

This weekend, we received the sad news that one of our long-standing guests had passed away. Their family shared how much the memories made here at Farndale Cottage and in beautiful Whitby have meant to them. This summer, their visit will feel different, but it will be a new way to honour those memories and keep the tradition alive.

Life is short. It’s built on small, precious moments. So take the trip, make the memories, and come to Whitby. ❤️
