Just had to share this post about this incredible trio of women exploring the UK from NZ. What amazing sense of adventure they must have. Paul Pedals - Bikes & Coffee - gets all the good stories.

Let me introduce you to Linda, Donna and Meg, who are all from Auckland, NZ. They are on a 4 week adventure throughout the UK, meandering from London to Edinburgh . They described themselves as happy go lucky keen cyclists, living by their saying of “All who wander are not lost”…, well they did admit that sometimes they are very lost. I could definitely learn a thing or two from their super light setup for the 4 week trip👌🏻🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️🚴 🇳🇿

We are staying Newton Grange, a rural retreat, where they have secure lockable bike storage, ebike charging facilities and washing facilities.

'Just returned from my cycling adventure in the Lake District with Seafern - my second in two years. Enjoyed 4 days with a lovely bunch of ladies and looked after superbly by Jill and Debbie who catered for all our needs. The fresh home cooked food was delicious and our accommodation excellent and the yoga stretching and hot tub after our rides were amazing...'

Scoping out the Yorkshire Wolds

It's been a good week for a desk job this week! I had a tooth pulled out in preparation for an implant ❤️‍🩹so I have been grateful to have spent some time planning routes for the Guided Cycling Short Break in the Yorkshire Wolds we are offering in 2027.

I am planning 3 circular routes from a central location incorporating routes 1, 66 and 164 from Walk Wheel Cycle Trust. There are some iconic roads like this dry valley between Millington to Huggate. Beautiful! Hoping the weather stays good for some recces next week. If you want to find out more about the holiday click on the link above 😄

All our accommodation providers have secure bike storage and basic maintenance and wash down facilities.

Showcasing a few pictures from our guided cycling holiday in the lake district this month. The ladies were a wonderful bunch from all over the UK. Many didn't know each other, but they gelled over 3 glorious days of cycling. Debbie and I enjoyed it so much that I'm already looking for a slightly larger accommodation for 2027. Perhaps we will find somewhere with a yoga studio as it seemed to be pretty popular 🚴‍♀️🧘‍♀️

On day three of our Guided Cycling Midweek in the majestic LAKE DISTRICT the ride had to be called off due to heavy and let’s call it Persistent rain. ☔️

It happens in the UK and it happens abroad. However, we didn’t let it deter us from getting out. Debbie led the group on a 6 mile walk along the shores of Coniston Lake District finishing at The Bluebird Café by the lake for lunch. The afternoon was spent chilling out by the log fire with a dip in the hot tub for some, so we certainly didn’t let the rain spoil our fun.

Following a small toast 🍷 to cycling adventures for women largely inspired by Breeze we ate wood fired pizzas 🍕 for dinner from The Yewdale Inn which were excellent. A satisfying end to our three day adventure 😊

Day two of our Guided Cycling Midweek in the majestic LAKE DISTRICT started with an early coffee stop at Chesters by the River where the cakes were so good it was impossible to resist a blackberry scone 😋

We cycled to Elter Water, Skelwith Bridge, Grasmere and had lunch at the very friendly The Apple Pie Cafe Rooms and Holiday Cottages in Ambleside. On our return journey we briefly visited Castle Wray to take in the views, before heading back to Coniston.

Stunning day of cycling - well done ladies 🚴‍♀️
