The Fisherman’s Olympics returns to Whitby Fish and Ships this year.

On Saturday 16 May local Whitby fishermen will compete in thrilling challenges showcasing strength and skills.

Events include:
- Stacking pots
- Tug-of-war
- Other strength-based competitions

Head to Whitby Marina Front Car Park on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May, between 10am and 5pm, with the music marquee open until 11pm on Saturday.

The Whitby Maritime & Shanty Festival returns over the weekend of May 16–17, bringing a wave of traditional sea music to the coast. 🌊🎶

Visitors can enjoy performances from a fantastic line-up including Hornsea Shanty Lasses, Steve & Julie Wigley, Ship to Shore Shanty Singers, Boathook Bald, The Whitby Youth Band, The Bridge Shanty Crew, Mel Langton, Nobody’s Friends Shanty Crew, Beth Burrows, Auckland Shanty Singers, Fylingdales Folk Choir, John Horsey (Monkeys Fist), and Richard Grainger.

Current venues include Pannett Gallery and the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, with more locations set to be announced soon.

The Pannett Gallery will host 12 acts across the weekend, offering free entry to enjoy a full programme of traditional sea music. Meanwhile, the Captain Cook Memorial Museum will feature special performances on May 17.
