88% Say Dogs Should Stay FREE…

We recently asked whether holiday cottages should charge extra for dogs, and the results speak for themselves:

✅ 88% said dogs should stay FREE
💷 12% felt a small fee was fair

We also asked what people had paid to take their pooches on holiday, with responses of £25 and £50 per dog.

As the cost of living continued to rise, we made the decision to stop charging for dogs. We wanted to make holidays with our four-legged family members that little bit more affordable and accessible.

And that’s why doggies stay FREE in all our dog-friendly Baytown Holiday Cottages (and we have quite a collection).

There’s something about Autumn in Robin Hood’s Bay that we absolutely love.

The changing colours, crisp coastal mornings, quieter beaches and the wonderfully dramatic North Sea and Yorkshire skies.

It’s the time of year for pulling on your walking boots, layering up and exploring the local walking trails, taking the dogs for a good run on the beach and finding a cosy corner, pubs with roaring fires afterwards then retreating back to a welcoming cottage.

And with autumn half-term just around the corner, there’s still plenty of opportunity for family adventures, rock pooling, fossil hunting and making memories by the sea.

Whether you’re here for a 2 nights or 2 weeks, Robin Hood’s Bay in October has a charm all of its own.

🗺️ The Importance Of Getting Lost…

Taking the wrong turning, discovering another alleyway and finding a little corner of the village you’ve somehow never noticed before.

Sometimes the best way to explore is without a plan. And Robin Hood’s Bay lends itself rather well to that.

After all, you’re never far from a pub, independent shop, tearoom or friendly local to point you in the right direction.

Because nothing is ever really that far away here, and that’s all part of the magic.

So go on, enjoy getting a little lost amongst the cobbled streets, winding alleyways and hidden passageways where smugglers once went about their illicit trade, supposedly moving contraband from the shore through the village, away from prying eyes.

Who knows what you might discover along the way?
