Also new to the town in Momento Mori which has just opened on Grape Lane, a few doors along from the Quirkey Den.

Good Morning, sunny mornings are lovely to wake up to and it's lovely at the moment, I keep forgetting we are in October. We have availability all this week up to Thursday Oct 8th then from Sunday 10th throughout the following week. The post below sounds like an amazing adventure for fossil hunting adults (see post below for more details. Also we have a bucket and chisel also in our reception, just ask to borrow it if you fancy it.

We will be heading down to try this out next week. It’s great that someone has invested in this location as it has been vacant pretty much since we first moved to Whitby.

So wishing it every success and looking forward to our first visit.

It’s a Wednesday morning in our beautiful new home. We’ve been open (nearly) a week and what a week it’s been. We’ve met many a local, many dogs (good with us by the way!) and many a visitor to Whitby.

Huge thanks to you for your support and if you’ve happen dropped in to say hello.

We’re maybe confident in terms of what we do but that doesn’t mean we’re above being nervous to seeing what people reckon. Especially after such a long renovation.

We’ve been humbled to meet so many well wishers and people approving of the place in quite a short space of time. It really does mean the world ✊

All change for our room 4 king size. We have had a few comments that the original bed was too low and difficult to get out of, so new bed and we have invested in an Emma Mattress as well.

We have the Emma Mattress in room 7 and everyone comments on how comfortable it is so over the course of the next year we will look to replace our older Mattresses with the Emma ones.

We have one on our own bed and when we go away, we can’t wait to get back for a great nights sleep.

Really important advice for anyone considering swimming in the sea or even it you are talking to anyone about the sea and how to spot a rip tide.

Rips are strong currents that can quickly drag you into deeper water.

Rip currents are difficult to spot. They can look like a channel of flat, darker water, surrounded by choppy, churning water, just like the image below.

If you feel like you’re being pulled by a rip current, swim or paddle parallel to the shore, not against the current. Or, Float to Live until help arrives.

If you see someone in trouble in the water, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
