Just seen that it is National Fish and Chips day so thought I would share the post from Trenchers. (Trenchers is only about a 10 mins walk down the hill from our B&B). It really makes me want fish and chips today😀

I love this shop and the new design of tea towels. I am definitely going to encourage my children to buy one for Father's Day for Simon. Hopefully he will love it😀. This shop is part way down on Church Street, about a 12-14 mins walk from our B&B.

Good Morning. It's hot enough to need sun tan cream, flip flops and a hat. Plus for those brave enough to take a dip in the sea (10 degrees at the moment which feels very cold still) take note of the message below from the RNLI - really important message. Plus I noticed a few jelly fish around yesterday so be aware of that also. Enjoy your bank holiday weekend.

We are expecting some lovely weather along the coast this Bank Holiday weekend.

If you find yourself unexpectedly in the water:

Float to Live:

- Tilt your head back with your ears submerged
- Relax and try to control your breathing
- Move your hands and legs gently to help you stay afloat
- Once your breathing is under control, call for help or swim to safety if you can

Cold water shock can affect anyone, no matter how strong a swimmer you are.

Availability for this Friday Saturday, we have proper off street parking, no scratchcards or stomping around bag in tow. Gorgeous breakfasts, fill your boots with full English. Good vegetarian options available.

We are also pet free, we are though happy to recommend accommodation locally that do accept dogs. Try Boulmers and Arundel House.

Lots going on this weekend and the sun has made an appearance and looks to be getting steadily warmer throughout the next week

You won't be short of something to do this weekend in Whitby.

The Whitby Fish and Ships Festival hosts a range of live music including the SaltburnSmugglers (pictured), cooking demos, free craft sessions and more. It coincides with the Maritime and Shanty Festival which sees live music around town with both being a real celebration of the town's maritime heritage.

If you want feel-good factor fresh air, join the Whitby Beach Sweep group for a community beach clean, meeting at the Whalebones at 12pm. There is also a lobster release both days with Whitby Lobster Hatchery.

Heading out of town, Goathland Farmers Market takes place on Saturday, 10am to 2pm. It is the biggest one yet with more than 20 stalls from food to crafts.

Make Sunday a peaceful one with a stroll around the grounds of Mulgrave Castle, from 12pm to 4pm, with this month's open event being in aid of Hawsker School. Mulgrave Estate

And, finally, not forgetting our four-legged friends, there is a fundraising dog show at Millbry Hill Country Store on Sunday at 11am.
