A little Fun Fund update from us ❤️
As many of you know, we'll be leaving The Lodge soon after 9 wonderful years.
We wanted to give you a proper update on the Fun Fund, just to be totally transparent as we've heard a few comments and we wouldn't want anyone to worry.
Over the years you, our lovely friends and customers, have helped us raise money through all sorts of fundraising - especially the very popular 1-100 draw, which is where most of the fund has come from.
Thanks to you we've been able to buy things we can all enjoy together, like the children's playground at the front of the pub and all the garden games.
front of the pub. We want to reassure everyone that the children's playground in the garden will be staying there when we leave for everyone to continue to enjoy.
The last couple of years have been quite challenging, and after chatting it through with a number of our regulars, we made the decision to use some of the Fun Fund to keep the fun going - paying for bingo tickets, disco bingo tickets, the free drinks for stand-up bingo, pool comps etc, etc.
That is why the fund isn't as high as it could have been, but as we always said, the "Fun Fund" was meant to be for having fun with - and hopefully you'll agree that's exactly what we've done.
When we leave, anything left in the Fun Fund will be donated to the Defibrillator Fund, along with anything from Chase the Joker, Higher or Lower and the Snowball.
Martin Peace has kindly offered to store the garden games etc, until the new people take over at The Lodge.
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported it over the years - we've had a blast.
