A New Chapter for Matthew Ryan's Retreats

It's with a heavy heart that I've made the decision to step away from managing Charming Terraced Home in Whitchurch.

I'd like to sincerely thank every guest who chose to stay there and everyone who supported the property over the past year. It has been a privilege to welcome so many wonderful visitors to Whitchurch, and I'm incredibly grateful for every booking, kind review and recommendation.

As Matthew Ryan's Retreats continues to evolve, I've realised that it's important to focus on the properties that truly reflect the experience and standard I want the brand to be known for. Sometimes, moving forward means making difficult decisions, but I firmly believe that focusing on quality over quantity will allow me to create something even more special.

My focus will now be on The Painted Rooms and Whitchurch High Street Hideaway. I'm particularly excited to begin a complete transformation of Whitchurch High Street Hideaway, creating a boutique retreat with a fresh new look, thoughtful design and an even more memorable guest experience in the heart of Whitchurch.

Over the coming months, I'll be sharing the makeover journey with you all, from behind-the-scenes updates to the finished result, and I genuinely can't wait to reveal what's in store.

If you fancy a change of scenery whilst staying in Whitchurch then you may want to venture out and explore some of what Shropshire has to offer, then maybe The British Ironwork Centre near Oswestry might be just the answer. A fantastic day out for both adults and children alike, there is plenty of amazing sculptures and artworks to see as you walk around the centre, with a fantastic cafe to unwind😋🍰☕️🫖 as well as shop to purchase some of its many unique gifts.

Only a 40 minute drive from Whitchurch.
