Our beautiful corner of Scotland has been named one of National Geographic's Best of the World 2027 destinations - and it's the ONLY destination in the UK to make the list!

Whilst more well-visited areas like the Highlands, Cornwall and the Lake District often steal the spotlight, we're absolutely thrilled to see our favourite corner of Scotland getting the recognition it deserves!

With rugged coastlines, breathtaking landscapes, rolling hills, historic castles, incredible wildlife and some of the darkest skies in the UK, there's so much to love about Dumfries and Galloway. ❤️

Our four unique, off-grid bothies sit right on the shores of beautiful Loch Ken, each with its own private wood-fired hot tub. Whether you're looking for a romantic escape, a family adventure or a relaxing break surrounded by nature, we've got you covered.

Did you know that Dumfries & Galloway is home to the UK’s first Dark Sky Park? 🌌🌠

Thanks to its incredibly low levels of light pollution, Galloway Forest Park is one of the best places in the UK to experience the magic of the night sky!

On a clear night, you can spot thousands of stars, dazzling constellations and even the Milky Way stretching overhead.

🌟 Stargazing at Loch Ken 🌟

Did you know that Dumfries and Galloway is a designated dark sky region?

That means the area has incredibly low light pollution and some of the clearest night skies across all of Europe - on a good night, you can see thousands of stars, planets and sometimes even the Milky Way overhead!

Here are our top tips for stargazing:

✨ Give your eyes a good 20 to 30 minutes to adjust - the darker it gets, the more magic appears 👀

✨ Switch off phones and bright screens - even small lights can spoil your night vision 📱

✨ If you're staying in one of our bothies, why not get in the hot tub for the ultimate stargazing experience! This photo was taken by one of our guests from their hot tub! 📸

✨ Check the moon phase - new moon nights mean the darkest skies and the most stars 🌙
