I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone that stayed here over the years, it has been an amazing journey, but after having the sale of the bed and breakfast fall through, I have taken the decision to retire and put my feet up.

It has been fantastic meeting everyone and have enjoyed having guests stay and return year after year, making them feel like family.

A big thank you goes out to Sharon for working with me for over 10 years, I'm sure a lot of you have loved her friendly banter over breakfast!

I hope that everyone that loves Whitstable will continue to visit our lovely town and enjoy all it has to offer.

Thank you all once again.

The ducklings have hatched, they are so camouflaged that can’t get close enough to take a good photo. You can just see them if you zoom in!

Fingers crossed we get a glimpse of them on the pond soon. They look healthy and are bobbing their heads around.

About Hillview

I’m Jane and I fell into hospitality so that I could make my home pay for itself. Finding myself in this big bungalow on my own and not wanting to move, I wondered how I could make it pay for itself, and so came up with the idea of sharing it with others by starting a bed and breakfast to supplement my going out to work.

Eight years later, and 4 cabins later in addition to the 4 rooms in the bungalow, I no longer have to go away to work.

I really never thought that running a bed and breakfast would ever have been something that I would be doing, but here I am and loving it. The commute to work is fantastic and I get to meet lots of lovely people as well, so many guests return time and time again, they are now like family which is fantastic.

Sharon joined about 5 years ago and being a bit OCD is the perfect person to help keep this rooms and cabins spotlessly clean, especially in this challenging time.
