Anyone love seafood? We have the most amazing sea food available here from local fishing. There is a super fish van often parked up at the retail park in Wick, Thurso has a fantastic shop down at the harbour and Wick harbour has a van where you can buy ready prepared foods and snacks.

Sharing a few photos of our gorgeous bedroom. We upgraded our bed to a king size solid oak bed last year and added a soft chair which folds down into a small single bed too, in the lounge we have a double sofa bed which is super comfy too. This gives lots of options for guests, we are licensed for accommodating four guests. Hope you love it as much as we do.

Lybster Wool ‘n’ Things is a great wee shop full to the brim with yarn and beautiful craft supplies for sewing and knitting. It’s a great local business located in the village of Lybster, only open on a Saturday. And a short drive right down to the beautiful old harbour you’ll find Tidelines a lovely cafe and little heritage display upstairs.
Photos show views inside the shop of displays of very colourful yarns, a range of supplies, display of embroidery threads, some fabrics, and photos of the outside of shop.

We had a gorgeous meal out
recently at The Galley - Scrabster. Definitely worth considering, just at the north side of Thurso at Scrabster Harbour, parking right outside, prompt service and lovely location. Great local seafood and other options too.
Photos attached of our meals, mussels in a cream sauce, caesar salad with mackerel and the last photo showed roast duck breast with vegetables and a toasted potato cake.

Love seeing these beautiful rare wild orchids at this time of year, photos taken on my walk yesterday from Auckengill harbour along the coastal path.
Photos show two varieties of orchid, one paler pink and white flowers with green leaves and dark spots on leaves, the other variety is a cerise pink flower and green leaves all growing in the grass along coastal path.

Out today on the Stroma Wildlife boat trip, definitely worth considering when you’re visiting. It leaves from John O Groats just a short ten minute drive from Duart at the Sea. We went to Duncansbay Stacks and then across to the Island of Stroma, we saw puffins along with many other sea birds and some gorgeous seals.
