🎉🏞️ Happy 75th Birthday to the Lake District National Park! 🥾💚

For 75 years, the Lake District has inspired millions with its breathtaking landscapes, iconic fells, sparkling lakes, and rich cultural heritage. Since becoming a National Park in 1951, it has been a place of adventure, inspiration, and unforgettable memories for generations of visitors.

To celebrate this special milestone, there will be a variety of celebratory volunteer-led guided walks taking place across the National Park, offering a fantastic opportunity to discover the Lakes with knowledgeable local volunteers while learning more about its landscapes, wildlife, history, and heritage. The walks are free to join and cater for a range of abilities.

It's the perfect place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and make unforgettable memories.

As beautiful as it is, remember that the Lake District is also a working farming landscape. If you're walking near livestock, please help keep everyone safe by following a few simple tips:

🐄 Give animals plenty of space
🐕 Keep dogs under close control and on a lead around livestock
🚶 Stay on marked footpaths where possible
👶 Take extra care around cows with calves
🚜 Leave gates as you find them
🤫 Move calmly and quietly through fields
