If youโre visiting the New Forest this bank holiday weekend or during half term next week, please help care for this unique and protected landscape by following the New Forest Code.
The Forest is home to Commoners' free-roaming livestock including ponies, cattle and donkeys, and it is also a living, working landscape shaped by Commoners and their animals.
With the roads, car parks and beauty spots expected to be busy, a little extra care from everyone can make a huge difference.
Please remember to:
๐ด Keep your distance from animals and never feed or touch them as they can kick or bite
๐ Drive slowly and carefully โ animals can wander onto roads at any time
๐ Keep dogs under close control, especially around livestock and ground-nesting birds
๐ฎ Take litter home and leave no trace
๐ฅ Avoid BBQs, campfires and disposable grills
๐ฒ Be considerate to other people enjoying the Forest and stick to the tracks
By respecting the New Forest Code, you can help protect the beautiful animals, wildlife and unique traditions that make the Forest so special.
Thank you! ๐
