Walking your dog this weekend in the beautiful Dorset countryside?

Thinking of letting your dog off the lead ?

We are warning all dog owners to keep their dogs on leads when walking them near livestock.

Sheep Worrying is a criminal offence and landowners can legally shoot a dog if they believe that their livestock is at risk under the Countryside Rights Of Way Act 1971.

With lambing season in full swing, the ewes are close to or about to give birth any stress could have a major impact on the welfare of the ewe and also a financial implication to the farmer.

If you see a dog worrying or attacking livestock please call Dorset Police on 999

Stour valley meadows are picturesque meadow fields located right next to the River Stour near Sturminster Marshall. With beautiful views looking over White Mill and the bridge (believed to be built in the 16th century), and back across acres of meadowland, this really is a truly unique setting.
