The sun is out and so I thought it was about time I brought you up to speed with the kitchen renovation - amazing how the sunshine can make the most chaotic scene rather charming !

To be honest with you, I feel I've been magically transported back to my Glasto field kitchen; which for now is giving me a lovely warm glow... let's see how I'm fairing in a few days! 😳😜

Twelfth night - white candles, calm, chicken thighs with black pudding and the start of a beautiful friendship.... Amos has finally decided that young Basil isn't so bad after all.

I'm always happy to reach this point and to be honest can't really understand why we don't celebrate it as we used to in the dim and distant past. Apparently, a time for much merry making (I'm all for that!) and blessing of homes.

Maybe if we did, Christmas might be a little more measured; we'd have to pace ourselves in order to do twelfth night justice... anyway, I'm going to leave you with that thought and settle in for the evening with my happy hounds. Happy Twelfth Night 😘

Happy New Year my trusty followers! Walking the little pupster around the garden today and thought it was time to share a few snaps - loads of planting achieved before Christmas which I was mightily pleased about, thanks to the ever incredible .

The crab apple walk is now planted, a whole host of hawthorn whips, and various other delights which I will tell you about in due course 😜. The wonderful thing is that even in its bare bones state it looks rather lovely on a crisp day against a blue sky...

The pressure is on - in a mad moment I've agreed to open the garden at the end of May πŸ™‰ - I must be mad but I think you already know that !!
Anyway, here goes - I love a challenge and if all else fails I'll hang bunting on everything and make lots of cake 😜 - I'm sure as we're newbies, everyone will want to come for a nosey if nothing else !

If anyone is ever in any doubt as to the authenticity of my posts this will leave you in no doubt that what you see from me is 100% real; added to which I'm sure it will make you laugh.

Whether I inspire you to make GougΓ©re or not - is entirely up to you. My only hope is that my rather hilarious performance in my makeshift kitchen, ably assisted by Amos and my glorious cameraman proves that no matter who or where you are, cooking from scratch isn't really that difficult and not only will you have the reward of eating your creations but it will provide much enjoyment and a generous helping of hilarity to ease you through your Thursday evening .

Full recipe will be in my next Substack as well as the delights of galloping horses and my thoughts on the most important Christmas list of all ...

For now, sit down with a sharpener and enjoy ! 😘

PS - just to clarify, the reel is speeded up - I promise I haven't been on the cooking sherry !🀣
