Spring has definitely sprung at Elim House. The garden is looking fabulous at the moment.

So - the forecast was for light snow this afternoon! Has been coming down steadily since mid morning. Have cleared the path and steps twice and now it is goose feathers. May need a 3rd clearing before bed 🥴. Current depth is 9”. Roads are chaos with many abandoning their cars.

It’s great to see so many overseas guests staying with us. At the moment we have 4 Americans, 4 Dutch and 2 Norwegians staying. What a change 😀

BBC Countryfile is visiting Orrest Head in tomorrow’s programme.
This is a nice walk from Elim House, which is not too challenging, but has spectacular views.
This was the walk that inspired Wainright to write his famous books of walks in the Lake District.
On the summit is a panorama naming the key visible fells which include the Old Man of Coniston, Scafell Pike, Great Gable, Fairfield and the Langdale Pikes.
