While this might be your holiday, please remember the Lake District is a working landscape.
Farmers, businesses, locals and emergency vehicles need clear access 24/7 so please park responsibly. Don’t block gates, footpaths or roads.
We know it’s going to be a busy summer and parking will be in demand, so lots of new temporary car parks have been put in place and before you head out you can visit our Safer Lakes page to see what capacity is where you’re heading.
And if it’s really busy, why not head out somewhere else? It’s a big place and there’s so much to explore.
