Did you know the Lake District only has ONE actual lake? 😮

Despite the name, only Bassenthwaite Lake is officially a "lake." Every other famous body of water in the National Park is technically a mere (like Windermere), a water (like Coniston Water), or a tarn.

The deepest view in England... 🏔️

At 243 feet (74 meters) deep, Wastwater is England’s deepest lake. It holds so much water that if you lined up traditional Cumberland sausages end-to-end, it would take over 121 of them just to reach the bottom!
