High Borrans Lodges are located on a traditional working hill farm close to Windermere, in the Lake District. The farm and lodge site are run by Cathy and Jonathan Hodgson and their family. The lodge park is small, private and enclosed and is ideal for quiet, relaxing, rural breaks. Although we are a quiet peaceful lodge park, we are within a 10 minute drive of Windermere.

A trip to the Lake District isn't complete without spending some time on the water. 🚤

From Windermere Lake Cruises to rowing boats, paddleboards and lakeside walks, there are plenty of ways to enjoy England's largest lake.

Many of our guests head down to Bowness or Ambleside for a few hours by the water before returning to the peace and quiet of the farm.

It's one of those days out that suits just about everyone and gives you a chance to see the Lake District from a different perspective.

It's nearly show season. 🚜🐑

Across Cumbria, the summer months are packed with agricultural shows, sports days and local events that have been bringing communities together for generations.

From livestock classes and sheepdog demonstrations to fell races, local food and plenty of friendly competition, they're a brilliant way to experience a side of the Lake District that many visitors don't always see.

As a working hill farm, these events are an important part of the farming calendar and something we always enjoy supporting.

Tucked away amongst the trees, Hazel is one of our woodland lodges designed for two.

Inside you'll find everything you need for a relaxing stay, including a king-size bed, a freestanding bath and a cosy living space that's perfect for putting your feet up after a day exploring the Lakes.
