How to get to Hill Top. A great day out.
Make a day of it – arrive at Hill Top by boat and foot
From 23 May, the Windermere Lake Cruises Bowness to Ash Landing service is running – offering a scenic and more sustainable way to begin your visit to Hill Top.
Hop on the boat from Bowness, sail across the lake, and from Ash Landing enjoy a walk to Hill Top through beautiful countryside. You can buy a combined ticket for the boat and entry to Hill Top from Windermere Lake Cruises.
🥾 Please note: This route is best suited to regular walkers or those feeling adventurous.

Includes some roadside sections
Not suitable for pushchairs
It’s a lovely way to slow down, take in the landscape, and arrive at Beatrix Potter’s farmhouse on foot 🌼
