Welcome to The Mortal Man — a small, family-run, fully independent country inn in the heart of beautiful Troutbeck.
We want you to feel at home from the moment you arrive. Think of us as a home away from home, just with incredible Lake District views, a cosy pub downstairs and a few more animals wandering around!
We’re proudly a little different. We have 10 rescue cats who call The Mortal Man home, our own pet ducks roaming the grounds (you can even buy their fresh eggs!), and we’re very dog friendly, because we know holidays are better when four-legged family members can come too.
Surrounded by the fells and countryside of the Lake District, we’re an independent place with plenty of personality, where things aren’t always perfectly polished — but they’re friendly, relaxed and full of character.
Whether you’re staying the night, stopping for a drink after a day on the fells, enjoying some food or simply popping in to say hello, welcome to our little corner of Troutbeck.
