Who wants to see how Heidi Corner used to look? 🤯

Owner/property Spotlight: Heidi Corner, Winterton.
When we launched in 2020, we had a clear mission: to create a portfolio of holiday homes that were both dog-welcoming and family-friendly, without compromising on quality. Holidays that work for everyone: dogs, kids, grandparents, and anyone else who wants to come along.

A Hands-on transformation:
The very first property to join the East Coast Hideaways collection was Heidi Corner, a bright seaside cottage in Winterton-on-Sea, Norfolk. After being handed the keys, Karen, spent the next three months overseeing its full transformation, from tired house to vibrant holiday home. From decorating and styling every room to installing the hot tub, setting up the décor, and even staying with her daughter for a week to flat-pack and paint, every detail was given her personal attention. That same care continues today. No tatty bedding, no tired towels, no shortcuts. Karen also recently returned to overhaul the garden by removing the old decking and adding a new patio, which involved operating the mini digger herself ("bloody brilliant fun!")

The Owner’s Experience:
“After months of planning, we finally took ownership of Heidi Corner in October 2020. Excitement filled the air as we anticipated decorating our little seaside cottage for our first guests in early December. Unfortunately, the COVID lockdowns put a halt to our plans, and being 150 miles away meant we had to ask Karen to manage everything on her own. Thankfully, she took this in her stride, and when we were finally able to visit, the cottage exceeded all our hopes. Since then, we haven’t stopped enhancing Heidi Corner. From cocktail shakers to smoothie blenders, an EV charger, and the cutest little tub chair, we’re always looking for ways to make your happy place even happier! Having worked closely with Karen for the last five years, it’s clear she truly understands our vision. She’s always on the lookout for cool little extras to make Heidi Corner feel even more like a home away from home. Perhaps our continuous evolution is why so many guests return. Or maybe it’s our famous bean-to-cup coffee machine? The Heidi Corner Barista experience is one of my favourite parts of Sunday mornings in Winterton-on-Sea. I feel extremely fortunate to have found someone who shares my passion for our cottage and the guests (both humans and dogs!) who stay there.”

A Shared Ethos:
It’s owners like Annie who remind us why we only partner with those who share our ethos. We don’t work for owners, we work with them - and that teamwork shows in the quality of the guest experience. Every property is part of the family, but Heidi Corner will always be the one where our story began. ❤️
