🚨 SCENARIO: A paver is down. The clock is ticking. 🚨

A paving crew is on site.

500 tonnes of asphalt are booked, loaded and already on their way to site.

The machine has a history of AdBlue / SCR issues.

Over the years multiple engineers have worked on it.

Parts have been replaced.

The system has been cleaned.

Faults have been cleared.

Everything appears to be running perfectly...

Until it doesn't.

❌ AdBlue pump failure.

The machine derates.

Production stops.

A quick visual inspection reveals fresh AdBlue leaking from the pump assembly.

White crystallisation is visible around the unit and the machine is displaying active SCR fault codes.

At this point, even without a full diagnosis, there is a strong indication that the AdBlue pump unit has failed and requires replacement.

The operator is waiting.

The crew is waiting.

The asphalt is coming.

Every minute now means lost production, increased costs and pressure building on site.

Fortunately, a replacement pump is available from the dealer.

The problem?

It's already late afternoon.

🚐 A driver is dispatched to collect the pump.

📍 The nearest dealer is contacted.

⏰ The dealer kindly agrees to stay open an extra 30 minutes to help keep the project moving.

The pump is on its way.

But then another problem appears.

The dealership has the part.

🚨 VÖGELE 1300 SUPER – ADBLUE / SCR FAULT 🚨

Another day, another fault-finding mission on a Vögele 1300 Super fitted with a Deutz Stage V engine.

The machine came in with multiple AdBlue / SCR warnings and engine fault codes.

🔧 Faults found:
❌ AdBlue / DEF dosing valve circuit fault
❌ NOx emissions downstream of the SCR catalyst above normal range
❌ Additional fuel pressure and power stage faults stored in memory

Using TEXA diagnostics, live data and electrical testing, the investigation focused on the DEF dosing system, wiring integrity and SCR components.

Modern Stage V engines are excellent when operating correctly, but one faulty sensor, dosing valve or wiring issue can quickly put a machine into derate mode and bring production to a halt.

Too many people start replacing expensive components without proper diagnosis. A systematic approach saves time, money and unnecessary parts replacement.
