🌠The Lyrid meteor shower will be at its peak tonight and tomorrow.
The Lyrids are one of the oldest recorded meteor showers in the world, with sightings dating back to 687 B.C.E., when observers in China described the meteors as “falling like rain.”
The weather forecast is showing a clear but cold night, which is perfect for stargazing.
With the moon only a small crescent, the skies should be lovely and dark once it sets.
We enjoy our dark skies and several visitors have seen their first shooting star while staying with us, so whenever you stay be sure to remember to look up.

What a fantastic walk! Wickham Market has some wonderful walks, and we are just 20 minutes from The Suffolk Coast . If you are considering a holiday in the UK this year, Suffolk is the place to head! For walking guides, go to https://visitwickhammarket.co.uk/walks-trails/ and if you are into cycling then try a route which includes Wickham Market, Sutton Hoo National Trust and Framlingham. Enjoy a coffee at Cafe No. 46 Wickham Market or a drink at The George Pub Wickham Market - the chips are great at The flaming fryer too!

A new walking route aimed at giving ramblers a "richer and more engaging way" to experience their local landscape has been unveiled on Ipswich Waterfront. 🌳

We tried to get some photos of the Northern lights last night, but nothing as spectacular as this one of Framlingham Castle.
If you stay with us, the castle is well worth a visit, but we can't guarantee such a spectacular background.

Do you enjoy cycling while on holiday? You might be interested in the Wolf Way: A 258 mile (418km) cycling adventure around Suffolk. Winding its way around many of the best bridleways, byways, gravel tracks, cycle paths and quiet back roads, it takes in some of Suffolk's most beautiful locations and hidden gems and passes through 2 of our neighboring villages, Dallinghoo and Ufford.
