🔥 UPDATE: GAS BBQs NOW PERMITTED🔥
Following a review of the current conditions, we’re pleased to confirm that gas BBQs are now permitted at Woodhall & Glen Lodge Country Park, subject to some important safety restrictions.
🌳 Charcoal BBQs, disposable BBQs, firepits and other open fires remain strictly prohibited until further notice.
If you’re planning to use a gas BBQ during your stay, please follow these rules:
🔥 Gas BBQs must be used on hardstanding only – not on grass, decking or other combustible surfaces.
🏕️ Staying on a grass pitch? Please speak to a member of our team, who will advise you of the closest suitable area where you can safely use your gas BBQ.
⬆️ BBQs must be raised off the ground, stable and on a level surface.
💧 You must have a bucket of water immediately available while your BBQ is in use.
👀 BBQs must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times and must not be left unattended while still hot.
⛺ BBQs must never be used inside or underneath tents, awnings, gazebos or other covered/enclosed areas.
🕗 All BBQs must be fully switched off, with the gas supply turned off, by 8pm.
⚠️ Please ensure your BBQ and gas cylinder are in good condition and do not use them if you suspect a leak or fault.
We know BBQs are a lovely part of a summer stay, so we're happy to be able to relax the restrictions slightly. However, the safety of our guests, team, wildlife and surrounding countryside remains our priority.
We will continue to monitor conditions closely and reserve the right to withdraw permission for gas BBQs at any time should the fire risk increase.
Thank you for helping us enjoy summer safely. 💚🌳
