Ilfracombe. More than meets the eye…

Coffee at Float Surf, a wander around the harbour, feel rather small beneath Verity, pick up some Devon goodies at Dinki Deli and lunch at Lucia’s Pantry.

Ilfracombe has some brilliant little independent places, and we keep discovering more.

Just 10 minutes along the coast from No.9 Putsborough, Woolacombe.

Sometimes it’s lovely to hear why our guests choose to stay with us rather than elsewhere...

Anna and her family stayed with us this summer and yes, being able to walk to the beach and restaurants within a few moments (not 20 minutes!) completely changes a holiday, especially when you have the whole family in tow.

But perhaps more importantly for us, Anna loved the calm interiors, the treats for their pup, having plenty of space, our balcony for lounging, and the onsite pool and gym — still such a rarity for a UK holiday.

North Devon does autumn rather well. 🍂

Especially around Lynmouth and Watersmeet — wooded paths, rushing water and plenty of excuses to stop and look around.

It’s one of our favourite walks when the beaches get quieter and the trees start doing their thing.

About 40 minutes from No.9 Putsborough and absolutely worth the drive.
