Having moved from Bath 18 months ago, we wanted to set up a Glamping site in the Wiltshire countryside, which we ran at weekends alongside our full time jobs! Our vision was to create a place where our guests can kick back, chill out and reconnect with friends and family. Based on last year‘s guest feedback, Chris decided to quit the corporate job with Campari Group to run the site full time in 20

Escape To The Fields is a great opportunity to step away from technology and reconnect with friends, loved ones and each other... so, put down the phone and the iPad, light a fire pit and enjoy conversation and laughs with a cold beer from the local brewery, or a cheeky gin and tonic. If it's outdoor activities you're after - there's kayaking, paddle boarding and more at nearby South Cerney Lakes, walking or trail running along the many footpaths in the area (including the Ridgeway), cycling (road and MTB) – there is plenty to keep you entertained. There’s a wide variety of attractions nearby, such as the Avebury Stone Circle World Heritage site (the World’s largest stone circle), or Lydiard Park a lovely historic House and Estate of 260 acres. For those of you looking for some retail therapy, you can venture to the nearby MacArthur Glen Outlet village in Swindon. If relaxing is more your vibe, then feel free to say hello to our friendly sheep, pygmy goats and resident Alpaca! For those with an interest in wildlife, we frequently see Muntjac deer, Roe deer, Hares, Red Kites, Buzzards, kestrels... and we also have a resident pair of Greater Spotted Woodpeckers at the site! In the evening, we have a barbeque area with two gas BBQ’s and a number of picnic benches to enjoy some chilled summer evenings. We also have a 'Social Barn' with sofas, a dart board and a pool/air hockey table, where you can kick back whatever the weather, put your feet up and chill – all with a view of the Broad Town White Horse. We are also incredibly lucky to have Broad Town Brewery just a few minutes’ walk down the road! Throughout the summer they have visiting street food vendors on a Thursday-Saturday evening too - from Wood Fired Pizzas, to Get Battered (fish & chips) to We Meat Again (Burgers)! We also have a number of great Pubs nearby in Royal Wootton Bassett, including The Angel Hotel and the more traditional thatched Five Bells. Not far from us we also have The Crown at Broad Hinton and The Winterbourne at Winterbourne Bassett, all less than five mins drive away.
