Our garden is waking up and especially pretty at the moment are the Cyclamen coum. They line the drive and are so vibrant, they even look good on dull wet days. What a welcome for guests!
I planted a few several years ago and they have spread all over the garden. I’ve since found out that the cyclamen seeds are covered in a sugary coating that attracts ants 🐜 who take the seeds back to their nest and then discard the seed once they’ve eaten the coating….. hence spreading the plant around. I love the fact all this is quietly going on in our garden and the cyclamen, ants and I are all winners 👌🏻

Wishing all a very Happy New Year 🎉It is so lovely to see the garden waking up and a few brave flowers appearing, such a welcome sight! And we can now stay outside until 4.30pm…..slowly the evenings are getting lighter 😊

Our new Lockdown Wood looking rather dried up after all the sunshine. But most of the young trees are still alive, just, although they haven’t put on a lot of growth. Hopefully next year……

Meet Ron! She came to stay last night with her owners, en route to Cornwall. We have had 2 cats to stay and numerous dogs, but this is the first tortoise 😄She was no trouble, a perfect B&B guest! What unusual guests have you come across?

Woke up this morning to some new baby chicks 🐤 😁 All my Guinea fowl were killed by the fox a few weeks ago so imagine my delight when these chicks hatched 🐣…..6 baby Guinea fowl chicks 🐥
