Group. We are delighted, proud and humbled to announce that Cockermouth Scouts has today been awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service (KAVS), the MBE for charity groups.
This is truly amazing and puts us alongside just a handful of other Scout Groups who have received this incredible honour.
Sincerest thanks to everyone involved in the Group for everything. And to those who nominated and supported us.

*Update*

Further to the instruction in July 2025 email, to suspend the use of Kelly Kettles, pending an accident review. Subsequent to completion of the review following the incident, I am pleased to be able to advise that the restriction is lifted with immediate effect.

We would recommend that if you own an old style Kelly Kettle with a cork that you consider replacing the cork with a plastic whistle.

Thank you for your patience. The safety of our members is paramount.
