So yesterday I handed over the keys to the new owners of the Haven. Mum moved there in 2002 and named it her ‘ Haven’ and was very happy there. After her death Martin and I updated it and used it as our weekend home, a place for our friends to stay and an AirBNB where we welcome people ( and their dogs) from across the globe and all parts of the UK. It was always lovely to read their feedback especially from our ‘regulars’ who we welcomed back year after year. After 11 years it was time for us to move on and do new things but this house will hold many happy memories for us.

So the end of an era yesterday as we handed the keys over to the new owners of the Haven. Mum moved to the house in 2002 and named it her ‘Haven’. Martin and I did some updating in 2013-14 and then for the last 11 years we have used it as our weekend home, a place for our friends to stay and an AirBNB. We’ve welcomed people and their dogs from across the Globe and from all parts of the UK and have loved hearing their feedback. Now it’s time for us to move on to new adventures and for the Haven to become a family home again.

As we’ve said goodbye to our last guests and prepare to sell the Haven we had a successful morning at Ford Sunday Market and took the remaining things straight to St Barnabas House shop.

With mixed feelings, but 10 years after we first started offering holiday lets at the Haven after Mum died, it is now time to move on to new ventures. We’ve enjoyed meeting many guests over the years and spending our own weekends at the house but it’s the right time now to return it to being someone’s home. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/147612251?utm_campaign=property-details&utm_content=buying&utm_medium=sharing&utm_source=copytoclipboard #/&channel=RES_BUY

This transformation was a massive achievement and has added to what Worthing has to offer.

When you’ve found yourself a moment between the odd Christmas and New Year period when no one knows what day it is. Have a look at something we’ve spent a bit of time working on. It’s taken us some time to document everything that came with the renovation. Our goal with this website isn’t to delve into the history of the pier (although we love hearing guests memories) Instead, to showcase the transformative work we poured into the building and unveil some of the extensive efforts invested into the building. We hope we’ve lived up to the expectations, it’s a stunning space - https://worthingpier.co.uk/

Latest article on the huge improvements in Worthing - Worthing: The ‘UK’s best seaside town to move to’ has a gourmet pier and an Art Deco seafront
This West Sussex town has had a modern makeover with experimental restaurants, trendy shops and cool cocktail bars, a gourmet pier and an Art Deco seafront
A decade ago, locals would refer to Worthing disparagingly, suggesting its main achievement was having the second-oldest population of any UK town (behind Blackpool). But, with an influx of younger residents (many having been priced out of Brighton), experimental food, drinks and art scenes, and space on the shingle beach on even the warmest days, this relaxed West Sussex town – named the best British seaside town to move to this year – is firmly out of retirement.

During summer, Worthing Festival (June), Pride (July) and Artists Open Houses (July) draw visitors. But the town never heaves under the weight of weekenders in the way you might expect in nearby Brighton. And, off-season it is possible to have the beach to yourself.
