Atlingworth Chapter No. 1821Charmandean Centre, Masons Hall, Forest Road,Worthing. Atlingworth Chapter was formed in 1943 and meets 4 times a year at the Charmandean Centre, Masons Hall, Forest Road, Worthing. Atlingworth Chapter is a masonic unit, part of the Provincial Grand Chapter of Sussex and the Supreme Grand Chapter, which is the governing body for Royal Arch masonry in England, Wales and

the Channel Islands. An explanation and history of Royal Arch Chapter is available at http://www.supremegrandchapter.org.uk/ The Royal Arch is the continuation of Craft Freemasonry. Its members, called Companions, meet in Chapters ruled over by three Principals. In England the Royal Arch has four ceremonies: the exaltation (initiation) ceremony to bring in new members and an installation ceremony for each of the three Principals. The exaltation ceremony is a dramatic presentation of the principles of the Order followed by three Lectures in which the history, symbolism and principles of the Royal Arch are further explained. Like Craft Freemasonry, the Royal Arch is open to men of all faiths. To join a Chapter a Freemason needs to be a Master Mason for at least 4 weeks. For more information about becoming a Freemason visit the website for the United Grand Lodge of England at http://www.ugle.org.uk/Visitors to Atlingworth Chapter, new and joining members are welcome. For more information contact the Secretary Ian at 01903-260500 or [email protected]
