Think carefully about taking your dog to walk Hadrian’s Wall! 🐾

A hike turned into a four-hour rescue after Sable, a 46 kg Tibetan Mastiff and German Shepherd cross, became unable to continue on a mountain trail in Pennsylvania.

Volunteer responders carried her down the mountain on a rescue stretcher, taking turns over difficult terrain until she reached safety.

Thankfully, Sable recovered.

Before setting off on a challenging walk, think about your dog’s fitness, the weather, the terrain and what your plan would be if your dog became injured. The larger the dog, the more difficult an evacuation can become.
