The Hotel Port Dinorwic is an informal and friendly hotel with very varied accommodation types. These include double/twin bedrooms, suites, cottages & function rooms at affordable prices, self catering apartment. It has been family run since it its creation in 1993 and continues to be to this day. Its location overlooking the Menai Straights gives it un-paralleled panoramic sea views. Each room at

the Hotel Port Dinorwic is individually styled and laid out. Room capacity can vary from single occupancy double rooms, to six person suites. All accommodation is en-suite, with tea and coffee making facilities, free view TV and free Wi-Fi. The hotel is perfectly situated between the university city of Bangor and the historic town of Caernarfon. The Snowdonia National Park is located only 15 mins away and the Isle of Anglesey only 5 mins. [email protected]

We have kick-started our Instagram page with a brief insight into the hotel history ๐Ÿ•ฐ

With photos showing the Port Dinorwic Dock creation in 1986, for the export of slate from the Dinorwic Quarry, and the original Dinorwic Quarry managers home and Dock offices - which were left derelict after the quarrys closure in 1969.

Ivor Jones and his wife Isabel bought the derelict site in 1979, where they spent the next 14 years, joined by their son Hayden, adding a third story, a new wing, outbuildings and cottages.

The hotel opened for business in 1993 ๐ŸŽ‰

The hotel is now run by x3 generations of Jones' ๐Ÿ˜Š
