As it approaches our first anniversary, we have been reflecting on our incredible journey as hoteliers.

From the moment we first stepped inside the grand porch into the beautiful hall, we fell in love – with the stunning hall and grounds but also with the idea of realising our dream of running our own luxury boutique hotel.

We have achieved so much in our time here – we were finalists in the Best New Business category at the Tees Businesswomen Awards; we have achieved excellent reviews across a range of booking platforms; we have welcomed so many wonderful customers – and precious return customers; we have hosted a range of special events including corporate luncheons, networking and B2B events; we have worked behind the scenes to curate the history of the hall to share with future generations; we have put our mark on the hall and grounds from our special little touches in the rooms to substantial grounds work, and so much more.

It has been such an amazing experience, and we are very thankful of everyone we have met throughout our time at Rudby Hall Hotel. We appreciate every single one of you – our wonderful customers, our supportive partners, everyone who has visited the hotel, and everyone who has liked, shared and commented on our social media posts.

However, following a planned investment deal breaking down and challenging trading conditions in the hospitality industry, we have made the difficult decision to step down and explore other opportunities.

This has been an incredible chapter in our story and has taught us so much about the industry and we have met so many phenomenal people. We are very proud of all that we have achieved in such a short time and it has been fantastic to meet so many people who had never been to the hall before.

Now, just as we always invited our guests to do, we are “taking a pause” ourselves. We have no regrets for giving this a go. We are very proud of what we have achieved, but it has also been a very challenging experience and we have decided that now is the time to move on and see where the next adventure takes us!

Good morning. Here is a photo of our main function room - the library. Here, the boardroom table is set up with decorations for a private event. The room is 70sqm with stunning views from three large windows. That bookcase has its own story and a secret door.

If you would like to run your event in this room please get in touch. We can adapt this space to many different needs - from 100+theatre style, fashion parades, completely empty, seminar etc.

Looking out from this picture window in the Drawing room is always going to be amazing. Those rolling fields, the trees, the Cleveland Hills beyond - the northern face of the North York Moors National Park

Don't worry if you come here and this table is occupied. There are two more picture windows in this room with exactly the same view. But do hurry and book your short break at Rudby Hall Hotel in case all three windows are taken up by eager viewers!

Good morning everyone and welcome to our occasional guide to the rooms and amenities of Rudby Hall Hotel. We are standing here in Jack Broome, a large double on the second floor, with an East facing window, overlooking the courtyard towards woodland. Notice in the windows that the original window panels are still present and working. This is just one of many original features still present in the Hall.

Good afternoon from Rudby Hall Hotel where the sun is shining on our fantastic view towards the Cleveland Hills and the North York Moors National Park . This amazing vista is always available (weather dependent) when you come to visit.

Fancy a walk when you get here? We will guide you around that view. The walk crosses the River Leven and allows you to look back on the Hall as you head to the hamlet of Sexhow.

'We had a lovely stay at Rudby Hall. Mark and Suze were really friendly and welcoming. They were happy to show us around the house and we were able to walk around the grounds and enjoy the spectacular views. We had the lady Amelia suit complete with balcony. Very comfortable and nicely furnished. For dinner we had beautifully prepared fresh crisp vegetables and new potatoes with a choice of salmon or a meat topping, and a delicious sauce. 'Great place to stay if you prefer a less corporate style hotel. Room ( Lady Amelia) was spotlessly clean with a v comfortable bed, large bathroom and balcony with a great view. Hosts are v friendly and v attentive. Great service- friendly and personal.'
