Great Farmings Great Britain!!

This weeks Wise Wednesday is a right mooooo-ver!

We are well into Autumn calving season, which is great to see the young cattle come into the world.

However there comes risks, as with any mother a cow will do what it needs to do in order to protect its calf. With this in mind be sure to give plenty of space and be completely aware of what is going on around you

Can you spare a bit of time on Saturday Morning (20th September)? We are celebrating National Parks big Weekend of Volunteering by having a tidy up at Cadover Bridge! This will be a and some fire pit restoration. Meeting at 10am in the main car park. All tools and equipment provided, come and lend a hand if you can - for a couple of minutes or a couple of hours…..it all counts 😊👍

It’s a small ask to protect elements of what makes Dartmoor so special.

We as a National Park are one of the last strongholds for a number of ground nesting bird species.

Let alone the mood lifting sight of dancing lambs across the moor.

🏡 Devon Farms and Country Stays begun when our group formed a co-operative of holidays locations, with the criteria that all members must be set on a farming or countryside location and their accommodation formally inspected. A brochure was produced, more visitors came to stay and new members continued to join.

As a co-operative, Devon Farms and Country Stays is run, promoted and managed entirely by its member families to ensure it’s integrity. There have been many changes in the countryside and accommodation types over these years, but the warm personal welcome and hospitality that is extended to you when you arrive for one of our stays certainly hasn’t changed 🪴
