West Bay at sunset 😍

Just 40 minutes drive from Tistockers log Cabin and Fjell Hytte shepherd's hut, it's the perfect escape.

We go there regularly, and last night we ate a cream tea there to celebrate being in Somerset for exactly three years! That's three years of welcoming around 500 guests, three years of falling in love with the beautiful area, and feeling like we finally found the place we truly belong ❤️

This is an ariel shot which gives an idea just how big the Dog Field is, and is definitely our biggest selling point for guests! 🤩

Plenty of room for your pooches to run around.
We allow up to two dogs, and only charge £10 per dog.

Your pampered pooch gets a delicious Lily's Kitchen treat to munch on (while the lucky humans get to enjoy hand made brownies). There is also a dog basket with balls, dog bowls, mats, towels, blankets, poo bags, wipes and a fun ball thrower! There is even a chilled ice ring in the freezer for your dogs to chew and cool down in the heat.
We recently added a mini freezer as we know many dog owners love to have frozen dog treats.

Here is Austin checking the beehives this morning and THEN.....we got to have the very first taste of honey from our bees! It was absolutely delicious 😋

We have two beehives. Hive 1, with a queen we named "Madonna".
Hive 2 our Queen is named, "Tina"(Turner).

This honey was from Madonna's Hive, she's a fairly new colony. This was just a very small amount, there will hopefully be lots more to come from Tina's Hive.

Well done bees! 🐝🐝❤️

Our latest additions, a trio of beautiful goslings!

Meet Gary, Gregory and Georgina.

We don't yet know if they're male or female so will have to see if they need to be renamed at a future date 🤣

They are getting very tame and the big grey one (Gary) is certainly the dominate one. They make fantastic lawn mowers even though they poo everywhere 😆

Ham Hill Country Park

This is a fantastic place to visit, just 15 minutes drive from the cabin/shepherd's hut. It's dog friendly, and on a clear day, the views are simply STUNNING.

Here's an extract from their website:

"Ham Hill is a beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors. It’s great for walking, running, dog walks, playing and spotting wildlife, with amazing views across Somerset. There is also an easy‑to‑use accessible path where everyone can enjoy the scenery.

Ham Hill has been shaped over millions of years and offers wide views across the South Somerset Levels, the Mendips and Exmoor. It is home to one of the largest Iron Age hillforts in the United Kingdom and is an important historic site. Today, you can enjoy wildflower meadows, lots of wildlife, interesting rocks and the remains of ancient ramparts.

Made from local hamstone, Ham Hill is easy to spot from the A303. With plenty of space to explore, there is something here for everyone.

The Visitor Centre is the main starting point for your visit. Inside, you can learn about the history and wildlife of Ham Hill, enjoy food and drink at the Lime Kiln Café, use the toilets and changing place, browse local art and crafts, and pick up gifts and local produce."
